Dr. Samadi recently covered the topic of menopause. In every woman’s life, there will come a time when their body will transition into what is called menopause. What this means, is that they have no longer had their menstrual cycles for a year. This normal event means the end of their reproductive years is approaching. Whether you feel well-informed on the topic or not, there are a few things every woman should know about menopause. The first is when in your lifetime this will occur. Although it is hard to predict the exact age at which a female will reach menopause, it usually occurs between ages 45 and 55, with an average age of 51. Another thing to be aware of is how perimenopause is different form menopause. The difference between the two is that perimenopause is simply the beginning of menopause, as the hormone production begins to decline. The symptoms of menopause can be challenging to face. For most women, hot flashes are the common symptom. They can occur at random, causing a sudden rush of heat. All women have different hot flashes, but there are some ways to ease them such as losing weight or using a fan. It is important to realize that menopause can affect your bone density. The changes occurring can weaken your bones, so think about possibly changing your diet to add calcium and minerals. Some women tend to gain weight during menopause. This being said, it is another reason you should stick to a healthy diet while going through menopause. As stated by Dr. David B Samadi, these are a few of the things that women should be aware during menopause.
