In a report by Estadao, Eduardo Sirotsky Melzer is a Brazilian businessman who heads the media company RBS Group as its President and Chairman of the Board. Eduardo, who is mostly known by his nickname Duda Melzer, was born in 1972. He earned his Business Administration degree in 1998 at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. He also holds an MBA that he earned at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massaschussets.
He began his professional career in Brazil, working for an international franchising company named Sweet Sweet Way as well as working on business projects for Booz Allen & Hamilton. While he was in the United States, Duda Melzer worked for a few corporations in New York City. Among these were Delphi Corporation, where he was a Senior Analyst. He was also the Chief Executive Officer of Box Top Media.
Upon his return to Brazil in 2004, Duda Melzer joined RBS Group. He was the Director General for the National Market when he first joined RBS Group and was promoted to Vice President of Market and Business Development in 2008. In 2010 he was assigned the role of Executive Vice President and in 2012 he became the CEO. It was in 2016 that he earned his current role at the company.
RBS Group is a Brazilian media company that owns newspapers, radio stations, and television station across Brazil. It was founded Mauricio Sirotsky Sobrinho who was Duda’s grandfather. Under Duda’s leadership, RBS Group has also established a subsidiary named e.Bricks Ventures which invests in technology startups in both the United States and Brazil.
