Jeff Herman, tireless advocate for victims of abuse

Jeff Herman is a trial lawyer who advocates for survivors of rape, sexual abuse, and sexual exploitation. His work is nationally-recognized, and his aggressive, passionate, and skilled representation will help you in blazing trails for protection and justice. Housed in Boca Raton, Florida, his representation knows now limits. Landmark decisions in favor of his clients include a $100 million verdict on behalf of client sexually abused by a priest, and representation of clients in sexual abuse lawsuits against former Elmo puppeteer, Kevin Clash.
Committed to protecting victims, Jeff Herman has dedicated his career to exposing child predators and the institutions (church, financial, etc.) that protect and hide them. His work and dedication has been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, People, and other national publications. He has shared that his goal is to “listen to sexual abuse victims and give them a voice.” He is considered by many to be the country’s leading attorney for handling high-profile sexual abuse lawsuits.

Advocating for victims of sexual assault does not have to be limited to trials after the fact. Actor Corey Feldman and U.S.A. Volleyball player Sarah Powers-Barnhard are joining the voices of many others to push New York senate leaders to pass the Child Victims Act. The bill, sponsored by Brady Hoylman (D-Manhattan) proposes eliminating both the criminal and civil statute of limitations in child sexual abuse cases in New York state. Currently, New York state law requires civil litigation to be brought to court within five years of the crime. Less time (only one year) applies in some situations. In criminal cases, the statute of limitations is also five years – but does not begin until the victim turns 18. The law has been passed in the Assembly and polls show that over 90% of New Yorkers support the bill.
